Emotions Are Amazing

The day I witness my friend crying is the day I will want to cry myself. No pity. All sympathy. All empathy.

Emotions are incredible especially within the four walls of our home, our private space, and when we have our back stage moments anywhere, everywhere. Our emotions become bare bones when we cannot hold them back and when we hear something or see something that strikes a chord inside of us, so deep, so real, so enervating. So impactful that we react and we can't help but become naked in our clothes. The eyes are the gateway to the soul. Besides falling tears, the eyes reveal an unforgiveable helplessness and candid vulnerability that we try so hard to shield from the public, from our own loved ones (unless you hold crying parties where you collectively cry with your friends).

Sometimes it's best to not say anything at all. Silence is golden. But sometimes silence is deafening. Silence is tragic and it is unwanted. The silence between two supposedly loving parents or a mother (widow) and son...this silence is almost earth shattering in its prolonged state.

I always cry when I listen to Faber Drive's Sleepless Nights. The emotional music video pictures a young child witnessing his two parents arguing downstairs. The kid watches the entire ordeal unfold through the stair banister. "Love's not enough when you say it, don't you know you gotta mean it?" Once again, actions speak louder than words and will always leave a lasting impression. However, if you forget the image of friends, you will never forget how they made you feel.
